Don't worry if your air fryer smells bad! Here are a few tips!
First Method: White Vinegar Odor Removal
Place a heat-resistant container inside the air fryer and add an appropriate amount of white vinegar (about 100-150 ml).
Set the air fryer to 180℃ and run it for 5-10 minutes. The white vinegar effectively absorbs and removes odors as it evaporates during heating.
Afterward, let the air fryer cool, then wipe the inside with a clean, damp cloth to remove any residual vinegar smell.
Second Method: Lemon Odor Removal
Slice a lemon thinly and place it inside the air fryer.
Set the air fryer to 150℃ for 8-10 minutes, or 180℃ for 3-5 minutes. Alternatively, you can set a lower temperature, such as around 100℃, and heat for a few minutes. The fresh scent of lemon helps mask and eliminate odors.
After baking, remove the lemon slices and wipe the inside of the air fryer clean with kitchen paper or a damp cloth.
Third Method: Tea Odor Removal
Wrap an appropriate amount of tea leaves (such as green tea or black tea) in gauze and place it inside the air fryer.
Set the air fryer to 160℃ and run for 10-15 minutes, or heat to around 150℃ for 5-8 minutes. Tea leaves have strong absorbent properties and can effectively absorb odors.
Afterwards, remove the tea bag and wipe the inside of the air fryer with a clean, damp cloth.
Fourth Method: Baking Soda Deodorizing
Add a small spoonful of baking soda to warm water, stir well, and then use a soft cloth to apply the solution.
Carefully wipe the inside of the air fryer, including the basket, body, and other parts.
After wiping, rinse thoroughly with clean water and then dry with a dry cloth.
Then air fry the air fryer for 10-15 minutes (180℃) to further remove odors.
Alternatively, sprinkle a small spoonful of baking soda into the air fryer, add an appropriate amount of water to dissolve the baking soda, then set the temperature to 180℃ and run for about 10 minutes. Wipe after cooling.
Fifth Method: Natural Ventilation
Separate the air fryer basket and body and place them in a well-ventilated area to air dry for several hours or even a day. Allow air to circulate naturally to remove odors, but avoid direct sunlight and dust.
Sixth Tip: Fruit Peel Deodorizing Method
Place fragrant fruit peels, such as orange peel, tangerine peel, grapefruit peel, lemon peel, etc.
Set the temperature to 180 degrees Celsius and the time to 5-10 minutes, then flip and bake for another 5-10 minutes.
Repeat this step 2-3 times for better removal of odors from the air fryer.
Seventh Tip: Empty Baking Method
Set the air fryer temperature to 200 degrees Celsius and the time to 10 minutes for empty baking.
This effectively burns off the protective oil in a new air fryer and removes odors, or residual smells from daily use.
