Can An Air Fryer Replace A Wok?

Since air fryers are so convenient, can they completely replace a wok for cooking? The answer is probably no.

From a cooking perspective: Air fryers are better suited for foods containing oil, such as meats, fish, and shrimp. They're also great for occasionally baking sweet potatoes or potatoes. However, they're not ideal for leafy greens that have little oil and low moisture content, as they tend to dry out or even burn. If you must cook leafy greens, it's recommended to add some water and oil.

From a convenience perspective: Air fryers operate in a sealed environment, which is less convenient than a traditional wok. An open design makes it easier to add ingredients and seasonings during cooking. Finally, consider the price: air fryers are not cheap, while woks are generally more affordable.

Therefore, an air fryer may not be an essential kitchen appliance for every household. However, for those who enjoy baked and fried foods, it's worth considering to add a healthy option to their diet.
